20-Run Wash Hands Vibes Sixth-Straight Loss Before Post-Game Fireworks
The Rocky Mountain Vibes (21-19) suffered their largest defeat of the season in a 20-0 shutout at the hands of the Oakland Ballers (31-10) on Saturday night.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Rocky Mountain Vibes (21-19) suffered their largest defeat of the season in a 20-0 shutout at the hands of the Oakland Ballers (31-10) on Saturday night.
With a season-high four errors across the opening two frames, the Vibes allowed six runs to open up the gate (all were unearned for starter Cregg Scherrer). Oakland listed four different innings with at least three runs crossing over the plate.
20 runs, a 20 run deficit, 19 hits, and six home runs against all also mark the unkind side of highs for the 2025 Rocky Mountain defense.
Positively, a couple batters marked standout performances despite the shutout. Both first baseman Gary Lora and second baseman Alex Adams tagged multi-hit games. That advances Adams to his 13th multi-knock outing and Lora to his 19th.
The uncracked egg on the scoreboard lists the third time the bats have been silenced this season with all occurrences popping up in the latest two series.
Before the contest, fans enjoyed a thrilling home run derby with catcher Austin Chouinard blasting his way to his second derby win.
Fans also witnessed a bluegrass National Anthem from the Tenderfoot Bluegrass Group with the nation's and state's colors being presented on horseback by First Colorado Top Hands Color Guard.
The series finale begins at noon on Sunday with coverage beginning at 11:45 a.m. on the Rocky Mountain Pre-Game Report.
