COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Rocky Mountain Vibes (2-0) outdid the Opening Day domination with a 25-7 beatdown of the Northern Colorado Owlz (0-2) on Wednesday night in a marathon game lasting three hours and 33 minutes. Not only did the bats launch five home runs, but the Rocky Mountain order batted around twice.
Seven Vibes batters mashed multi-hit games with the highest production coming from the top of the order with four from both center fielder Carter Booth and right fielder Kellum Clark. Both also added into the home run total, joined by long balls from third baseman Dane Tofteland, Will Butcher, and Garrett Kueber (who marked the first grand slam of 2025).
The Vibes made things easy for the pitching staff by scoring at least one run in every inning. The drastic disparity gives RMV a run differential of plus-30 through just two games.
Left-hander Riley Phillips made his Rocky Mountain debut with 4.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 BB, & 5 K. Righty Kerry Wright nabbed the win in his professional debut with 1.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, & 1 K. Right-handed relievers Caden Kratz, Hunter Bryan, and Trey Morrill wrapped up the final four innings letting up a combined four runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.
The third meeting of the series takes place on Thursday, May 22 with another 6:30 p.m. start time at blocktickets PARK with RHP Noel Soto scheduled to pitch for the visitors and RHP Malik Binns getting the nod for the Vibes.
