Vibes Leap to Walkoff Win in Back-and-Forth Affair on Military Appreciation Night
The Rocky Mountain Vibes (3-0) pulled off their first walkoff win of 2025 10-9 over the Northern Colorado Owlz (0-3) on Military Appreciation Thursday after being down to the final strike of the ninth inning twice. After letting loose a five-run lead entering the ninth, the Vibes called on the back and front of the batting order to surge to victory with a Carter Booth single leading to Alex Adams scoring on an error.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Rocky Mountain Vibes (3-0) pulled off their first walkoff win of 2025 10-9 over the Northern Colorado Owlz (0-3) on Military Appreciation Thursday after being down to the final strike of the ninth inning twice. After letting loose a five-run lead entering the ninth, the Vibes called on the back and front of the batting order to surge to victory with a Carter Booth single leading to Alex Adams scoring on an error.
While the Vibes bats came together, six NoCo errors helped hand the win to the home crew. The final play included Owlz center fielder Dreylin Holmes over-running a shallow single, letting Adams speed through the green light at third.
Booth and Adams were the biggest offensive contributors with Booth pouring in a five-hit performance and Adams delivering three hits and three RBIs in his first start of the season.
Add in a few Adams web gems at second base on defense to the line set before the ninth-inning unravelling. Right-hander Malik Binns started allowing four runs on four hits across five innings with six strikeouts. The next three relievers allowed just one combined hit with a no-hit sixth from lefty Gabe White, LHP Tom Peltier striking out the side, and RHP Hunter Bryan cruising through the eighth. Reliever Trey Morrill struggled through the ninth after the first batter reached on a dropped third strike, and an error from his successor Caleb Strack allowed the tying run to score, but the Rocky Mountain offense responded accordingly.
After narrowly avoiding their first knockout round of 2025, the Vibes and Owlz rematch on Firework Friday at 6:30 p.m. with RHP Ubaldo Romo scheduled to start for Northern Colorado and LHP Anthony Imhoff set to make his Rocky Mountain debut.
