The Rocky Mountain Vibes (17-7) dropped their first series opener of 2025 in an 11-5 drubbing at the hands of the Grand Junction Jackalopes (9-15) on Tuesday night.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Rocky Mountain Vibes (17-7) dropped their first series opener of 2025 in an 11-5 drubbing at the hands of the Grand Junction Jackalopes (9-15) on Tuesday night.
Rocky Mountain left 14 runners on base throughout the contest with six being stranded in scoring position, thrice leaving the bases loaded. Besides that, the bats still produced with seven players marking multi-hit performances.
First baseman Will Butcher extended his hit streak to 17 games with a two-hit night, also scoring a pair of runs. Catcher Christian Pregent led off his day with three knocks and an RBI.
On the mound, despite earning his first loss of the year, starter Malik Binns turned in a positive outing. The right-hander entered the game leading the roster in walks, but he attacked the zone, only walking two batters in 5.2 IP with 5 R allowed on 6 H with 5 K. Left-hander Tom Peltier had a peculiarly short outing, cleaning up the end of the sixth inning on four pitches, never officially facing a batter thanks to his pickoff move ending that frame. RHP Wyatt Tucker allowed his first earned run of the season with 3 R on 3 H, 1 BB, and 3 K. Reliever Nick Pazos finished out the last two innings, surrendering 3 R, 1 H, 5 BB, and dealing 2 K.
These teams flip a quick turnaround with an 11:30 a.m. first pitch on STEM Day for the Wednesday morning affair. RHP Joe Cuomo gets the early start for the visitors taking on Rocky Mountain's undefeated southpaw Anthony Imhoff.
